Take Charge Tuesday :: Working "On" Your Business Vs. Working "In" It
Most entrepreneurs, including us at the DASH Collective, are artisans or specialists who have launched their own business enterprise. They are, by nature or by trade, designers, writers, photographers, coaches, accountants, stylists, chefs, ARTISTS consultants and so on. They are masters of their craft. They are not entrepreneurs.
As a result, most of their time is spent acting in the capacity of an employee rather than as the leader. They wear many hats and push themselves to the limit. They are, by definition, working "in" their business.
At the core of every successful business is an entrepreneur who invested the necessary time and resources into ensuring that he or she has established a strong foundation from which the business can thrive.
Are there cracks in your foundation? Is your business a solid structure that can smoothly expand into the next area of development and growth?
Moving your business forward may require you to take a step back, WAY BACK, and take the time to determine your plans, goals and strategies to understand where you are now and where you want to be in the future.
As the leader and owner of your business, you are responsible for shaping its future. You are responsible for the big picture. Your role is to plan, strategize and build the best business model possible.
This is why it is important to work "on" your business, more than you work "in" it. When you realize that, your business will grow.
